Post-Operative Treatment

Post-operative treatments are all about helping you recover after going through surgery. A post-operative kinesiologist will assess, diagnose, and implement a personalized treatment plan based on up-to-date scientific evidence. The main goal is to restore functional independence and optimize physical well-being.

Physical rehabilitation after surgery encompasses a wide range of surgical procedures. Common types of surgeries requiring Post-operative treatment include:

  •  Orthopedic Surgery: Focuses on the musculoskeletal system (muscles, bones, joints). These include Spinal surgery, Joint replacements (Knee, hip, Shoulder), ligament reconstructions (i.e. ACL Reconstruction), Rotator Cuff Repairs, Muscle Repairs.

  • Neurosurgery: Focuses on the nervous system. These include Brain surgery, spinal surgery, and peripheral nerve repairs.

  • Thoracic Surgery: Involves surgical procedures focusing on organs inside the thoracic cavity(chest). Common types include heart surgery (cardiac rehabilitation), lung surgery.

Our Approach

After joint replacement surgery, the body faces a new reality. It begins adapting to the artificial joint, but this joint often starts off stiff and difficult to move. There is only one proven path to restoring its mobility: a structured, personalized exercise program designed specifically for you. These exercises must be introduced gradually, with careful progression in intensity, duration, and range of motion.

However, there is a critical challenge that many patients face: persistent pain lasting for months. This is a reality that many surgeons do not fully explain. Pain often discourages people from using the new joint, leading to reduced movement, joint stiffness, and eventually muscle atrophy around the operated area. As muscles weaken, mobility decreases further, creating a frustrating cycle of inactivity and discomfort.

At Clinique Kiné Fara, we break that cycle.

We begin by precisely measuring the range of motion of your new joint. From there, we design a step-by-step rehabilitation plan tailored to your body’s needs. As you progress, we gradually increase the difficulty of your exercises to safely build strength, mobility, and confidence.

Alongside exercise therapy, we incorporate hands-on manual therapy techniques to gently improve joint flexibility without pain, helping you reclaim function and return to a pain-free, high-performing life with your new joint.
